Just in case you missed our earlier recap of yesterday's Board of Supervisors meeting, the planned park at 17th & Folsom Streets will go forward. After a ten-year slog through bureaucracy, community meetings, design reviews, dancers who drive, and one Discretionary Review request, the BoS unanimously approved the purchase of the property- currently a parking lot- from the SF PUC. As Supervisor Kim points out, parks in the Mission account for only 1% of the city's total green spaces. [Check out the recap, plus previous coverage at Curbed SF]
