Bay Area real estate in the summer can be achingly boring: this summer more than ever with buyers plagued by changing lending practices, low inventory, and economic malaise. "In fact, many buyers have taken a break altogether," complains Redfin in its summer, 2011 Insider Report. Yet San Francisco proper, as usual, refuses to bore us. While other areas beg for buyers and slash prices, SF has continued to enjoy "bidding wars," and has the lowest months of supply of any Redfin market, meaning that even if buyers bow out, the current supply will "still probably get eaten up by investors alone."[Redfin/photo via Colin]
