The Art Commission thinks it has a solution to the city's graffiti problem, and it's an iPhone app. Graff City, a free iPhone app that became available on Friday, lets taggers take a photo of a building or surface and virtually "tag" it. Tyra Fennel, the Arts Commission's art education program manager, thinks the app will cut down actual graffiti, which the city spends an estimated $22 million annually cleaning up. "We're not going to get all taggers -- some taggers are just trying to be vandals and 'anti-'," she said. "We hope we will lessen the tagging rate." Fennell said she'd be happy if the app reduces "30 to 40 percent" of graffiti in San Francisco. [SFGate]
