Take a Look: BART's Fleet of the Future Renderings Released

New, 16 comments

[Renderings via Bart.gov] BART released renderings yesterday of its concepts for its Fleet of the Future, the new train cars designed by BMW Group DesignworksUSA, which will replace "the oldest fleet in the nation." There's three possible interior concepts, and we're happy to report that none of them feature upholstered seats. In fact, all of them have "easier to clean, wipeable seats" and "no musty carpets." The concepts differ more in their sense of style, and some of their specific features. For instance, Interior Concept A, which the designers have dubbed "Commuter Comfort," have headrests on window seats. As expected, BART wants your feedback. You can submit an electronic feedback form, or visit one of the many open houses that BART will be hosting starting on Thursday.
