The date has finally arrived: Apple will unveil its first Berkeley retail store on Fourth Street this Saturday, August 20. The construction barrier came off to reveal a completely black facade except for the Apple logo. This is the same Apple construction site that was the cause of some pretty serious construction woes when several free-standing walls from the previous structure sank into the ground and hit the adjacent building. The grand opening, which starts at 10am, includes a free commemorative T-shirt for the first 1,000 customers. [Berkeleyside/Curbed SF]
