Weekend Open House Report: Under $500K Edition

New, 4 comments

Location: 1043 Hollister Avenue, Bayview
Size: 1-bed, 1-bath; 875-square-feet
Price: $390,000
Pitch: "A delightful Victorian home has been completely remodeled in 2003. An exposed beam runs the length of the public rooms giving a loft-like feel and blending modern bamboo floors, original window frames and planation shutters. The home boosts a tankless water heater, energy efficient insulation and a newer roof. A must-see home!"
Our Take: The paint colors, the layout, the kitchen finishes? we wouldn't change a thing about this home. We're especially loving the Murano glass lights above the kitchen island and also the spacious and jetted tub in the bathroom. And the backyard? It's dreamy (and filled with succulents). Extra points given for having an attic.

Location: 5320 Diamond Heights Boulevard, Diamond Heights

Pitch: "Bright and sunny top floor view condo at Diamond Ridge. Updated kitchen and bath with vaulted ceilings in the living and bedroom. Ample closet space, gas fireplace and 1-car parking complete the unit. FHA approved building."
Our Take: We're really digging the super tall ceilings. They help make the space seem larger than it is. Also, how about all that above closet storage? This is a great condo to play hide-and-seek. Monthly HOA dues are $390.

Our Take: The condo's great. And two bedrooms for under 500K? We'll take it. We think the porch off of the kitchen would be an excellent place to drink your coffee while you read the paper. And the pink bathroom! Adorable.
