Blood (Tests) From a Stone

...a request from Mayor Ed Lee in May that CPMC pay annually toward transit and affordable housing to the tune of $108 million, an amount that CPMC officials called “fiscally infeasible” and said would cost $2 billion over a hospital’s average 50-year life. Hospital officials and the not-running-for-mayor Mayor Lee continue to duke it out over how much CPMC should have to shell out to get its new facility on Van Ness Street approved by the Supes. The hospital is offering $1.1B instead, and apparently, doctors demonstrated during lunch (but before golf) today at St. Lukes to show support for their employer's plan, which includes refinements like a pedestrian tunnel under Van Ness.
