An email sent from the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District states that they have added information signage to alert bridge users of crowded conditions and will soon add stripes to the multi-use East sidewalk to help traffic flow and direction, reports SF Gate. This will hopefully help create less of a clusterf**k, as bicyclists and pedestrians have to share the east sidewalk because the west sidewalk, which is usually only used by cyclists, is currently closed because of a retrofit project.
