More Goodbyes

It's only been two weeks since Teddy, one of the American bison that lived in Golden Gate Park, became ill and was euthanized. Today, SF Gate brings word that this morning a second buffalo was put down. At 28 years of age, Pretty Old Cow was the oldest of the all-female herd. Zoo experts had watched her health deteriorate over several months, and made the decision to euthanize her. This fall a number of new bison will be bought to replenish the herd.
