Tomorrow's the day that the San Francisco Board of Supervisors makes a decision on an appeal to plans for the redevelopment of the always stunning and totally unbelievably awesome Treasure Island, a place where tourists flock to because it's so easily accessible and has a beautiful, natural landscape. The Sierra Club joined a consortium of groups and former Supervisor Aaron Peskin in opposing the project's environmental impact report last month. Peskin thinks developers won't deliver on promises of making the island a self-sustained ecotopia. Supervisors were suppose to hear the Treasure Island matter May 17th, but it was delayed until Tuesday because of the appeal. [SF Examiner]
