When the plan came in front of the board for a third time today, Supervisor Scott Wiener asked for yet another continuance on the item. This delay will permit discussion by the Land Use Committee, as AT&T's big, grey-green and humming boxes get set back another few weeks so they can be reviewed in light of the Better Streets Plan passed last December. For those of us hiding under rocks, AT&T wants to put over 1600 new and replacement boxes on the sidewalks, mostly to wire up the western part of town and to compete with Comcast. That otherwise noble goal may be scaled back as AT&T trims its expectations. [SF Appeal and previously on Curbed SF]
