The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency's board of directors on Tuesday approved a tunneling contract for the $1.57 billion Central Subway project. No word on where the other $1.2B+/- will come from, but hey, there will be a tunnel. The tunneling contract is for $233.6M and was awarded to a Montana firm, Barnard Impreglio Healy. Presumably the balance is for decor; we should be riding sometime in 2018. [SF Appeal, and previously on Curbed SF]
