Money Matters

The ImproveSF campaign is a way for San Francisco's 26,000 or so employees to make suggestions online about ways the city can save money. "This is a great way to tap into the expertise and creativity of our City family, so that we can come up with innovative ways to save San Francisco taxpayers' money," Mayor Ed Lee said in a statement. In a just a few weeks the campaign received more than 540 ideas, like changing the font on city memoirs, requiring electronic payments from city vendors and asking for donations from city workers.
