On the hottest day of 2011 (so far) a roof-top fire at 165 Collingwood sent plumes of smoke up above the Castro early this afternoon. No word on a cause, or if this was another in a series of recent arson episode, but spontaneous combustion is not an unknown phenomenon in the neighborhood. According to SFFD spokesperson Mindy Talmadge:

It was definitely a very visual fire. And of course, we wouldn't expect anything less. The fire was quickly brought under control and although there's no assessment yet of damage, there were no reported injuries.
