As you probably already know, Dolores Park is on a journey to a much-needed $11 million facelift. The first step? Demolishing the playground, which will happen next month. The sandlot and picnic area will be razed and replaced with a 45-foot-long Super Slide, sectioned swing sets and other amenities. The Recreation and Park Department estimates that the Helen Diller Playground will be finished between January and May of 2012. [SF Examiner]
