It's too bad we didn't have a Curbed correspondent on site, because we hear yesterday's hearing on the city's preservation goals was a real shitshow. Supervisor Scott Wiener's Monday hearing on where to draw the line between preservation and progression in San Francisco was supposed to provide a platform for both sides of the debate to passionately discuss how preservation has helped or hurt their efforts to improve the city. The Chron tells us that the commission heard "nearly three-and-a-half hours of public comment" from residents on both sides of the issue. It was a lot of yelling and not much listening. The board's Land Use & Economic Development Committee continued the discussion to a later date. Conclusion? Nothing changed. Preservation! [SF Gate]
