A two-alarm fire was reported at 12:13 a.m. in two residents units at 1547 and 1549 Powell Street in North Beach early this morning. The fire caused "quite extensive" damage that totaled about $1.5 million to the building's structure and contents, San Francisco fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said. The fire is not considered suspicious and is "most likely electrical in nature," Talmadge said. [SF Appeal]
