Park officials, who plan to replace the controversial recycling facility with a community garden, don't have to do what the supervisors want, and aren't planning to reverse course? The Supes come down on Rec & Parks with a non-binding resolution to preserve the almost-historic HANC recycling center in Golden Gate Park. HANC was supposed to have been out of there last week, but now say their lease extends to June. There's a recycling center at Market & Duboce, but apparently that won't do. No word on the non-conforming private native plant nursery that operates there. [City Insider/SFGate and previously on Curbed SF]
