De-Arsenic Your Local Park

New, 2 comments

Mountain lake Park received a "C" rating from the Recreation and Parks most recent review of playgrounds. Richmond neighbors must be be former valedictorians, because they are already working to raise the necessary funds for renovation to get the park back on the straight and narrow. The review found that the playground had old wood that contained arsenic and other toxins, some really dirty sand, and needed better boundaries between the park and nearby Lake Street. The renovation is estimated to cost between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000 and the Friends of Mountain Lake Park Playground hope to raise half of that from private donors. [Richmond SF]
