Nikki Calma, president of the S.F. Pride Celebration Committee, has stepped down. Calma, better known as Tita Aida in the LGBT community, cited recent health problems as the reason for her resignation, the Chronicle reports. This is bad news for the already struggling group. A recent assessment of the group by the city controller's office found that the pride committee's budget was $225,000 in the red. In October, Amy Andre quit as the Executive Director of the event. Calma had been a key figure in trying to figure out how to ensure there will be a 41st Gay Pride event in June. No word yet on any possible replacements. [SF Gate]
