Geary Boulevard is about to get a little brighter. Today crews began replacing about 350 fluorescent lighting fixtures on Geary between Collins and Lyons streets, Department of Public Works officials said. The new lights are estimated to save more than 260,000 kilowatt hours per year. [SF Appeal]
