SmartMeter Uproar

A small group protested the installation of PG&E SmartMeters yesterday in the Marina District, according to the SF Appeal. Less than a dozen people in the late morning gathered around a truck from Wellington Energy Inc., which is the company that installs the SmartMeters for PG&E, organizer November Alexis said. Police were later called to instruct the protestors to move out of the truck's way so it could get to work. The group then moved to another site where SmartMeters were suppose to be installed. Police Lt. Troy Dangerfield confirmed the protest but said that no one had caused any real trouble. [SF Appeal]
