Weekend Open House Report: 1900 Edition

New, 3 comments

This week's selection of open houses for your weekend browsing pleasure are all Victorians built between 1900 and 1906. However, once inside it's a contemporary wonderland. Happy viewing!

Location: 4279 22nd Street, Noe Valley
Size: 2-bed, 2-bath; 1,670-square feet
Price: $1,099,000
Pitch: "Wonderful expanded home tuckered behind modest 1906 exterior. Flexible floorplan w/ great light and spaces."
Our Take: The interiors are fancy and glorious and highly contemporary and all of that's fine and good, but can we please discuss the awesomeness that is the cottage in the backyard? Described as a "artist or mediation cottage," it has bamboo floors and earth plaster walls. We're swooning.
Open House: Saturday, 12 to 2pm. Sunday, 2 to 4pm.

Location: 23 Belcher Street, Duboce Triangle
Size: 2-bed, 1-bath; 1,440-square feet
Price: $995,000
Pitch: "Truly spectacular! This graceful condo is filled with gorgeous period details including wainscoting, corbels, rosettes and moldings."
Our Take: Of all the homes we're showing you today, this one has the most original charm. It's definitely been upgraded to reflect our modern needs, however. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and machines that help you clean things.
Open House: Saturday, 1 to 3pm. Sunday, 1 to 4pm.

Location: 63 Pond Street, Eureka Valley
Size: 2-bed, 2-bath; 1,118-square feet
Price: $915,000
Pitch: "Nestled in the heart of one of the most desirable neighborhoods, and most charming streets, 63 Pond is the product of carefully selected luxurious materials incorporated into an exceptionally designed modern residence."
Our Take: It's a TIC and tiny. That said, the remodel really helped open the space so it feels bigger than it is. We love the finishes and the flooring. All the additional storage will really help kind the place tidy.
Open House: Saturday, 2 to 4pm. Sunday, 2 to 4pm.
