All is not well in the Haight. Although voters approved the sit-lie ordinance four months ago, the SFPD has not yet enforced it. But that hasn't stopped Haight Street merchants from putting up bright signs in their windows that explain the rules. For the most part, there's been a decrease in activity. However, there are a few bad apples who've painted pro-loitering graffiti directly on area sidewalks. Interim police Chief Jeff Godown pledged that enforcement would begin "sometime this month."
