Tough news for the folks who actually drive around Union Square. Last week construction crews started closing off and rerouting sidewalks in preparation for the Central Subway. Stockton Street will be closed -- one block at a time -- to private vehicles. It's unknown how long work will take on each block. [SF Gate]
