The booze-costume-NIMBY-fest known as Bay to Breakers is entering its 100th year, and race organizers are set to show whether a sober athletic event can get sponsors over a drunken parade. The race organizers are hoping that if they can make the race less of a cluster***, they can reel in an official corporate sponsor and stop losing money. Registrations are almost full for the centennial running, though that hasn't been a problem in the past for most participants who probably wouldn't attach a running bib to their naked body or bumblebee outfit or whatever topical thing they came up with the week before anyway. Regardless, it's set to be an epic battle of NIMBYs vs. Corporate Interests vs. Kids who Like to Drink, and it's just heating up. [SF Gate]
