Fort Funston, Crissy Fields? these are just two of nine local national parks where the city might have to change the off-leash dog policy for certain areas of the parks. A plan issued last month by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area proposes to "completely or significantly reduce" the off-leash areas where we take our four legged friends. Why is the federal government doing this? It's trying to "strike a balance," the SF Examiner reports, "between park landscape, native wildlife and the 16 million visitors." [SF Examiner]
