Talking Trash

Illegal dumping in San Francisco's Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood has gotten so bad that SF officials are now going door-to-door to encourage snitching, reports the SF Appeal. The San Francisco Department of the Environment and Department of Public Works are almost halfway done with a six-week campaign that reaches out to businesses and residents who dump waste and bulky items on city sidewalks and streets. The departments assembled a crew of five city employees to educate about how to properly dispose of items, and how to report illegal dumping. [SF Appeal]
