Back in July we learned that there's a project underway to build a skate park under the Central Freeway at the corner of Duboce Avenue and Mission Street. Today the project got a push in the right direction, by way of skateboarding living legend Tony Hawk. The Tony Hawk Foundation is giving a $10,000 grant to the new SoMa skate park. Construction on the new skate park will start next spring and open in the fall. [SF Appeal]
