More worrisome news about San Francisco hosting the America's Cup: Some local artists feel like organizers of the yacht race aren't giving them the attention they deserve. And it's true! Of the $300 million bucks this event is going to cost, only $120,000 has been budgeted for arts. "You've really got to get it together," Bruce Davis, a former director for the Arts Council Silicon Valley, said at a recent Board of Supervisors committee hearing. "It's only 18 months away." Mission district community organizer Roberto Hernandez chimed in as well. "There is no plan for the arts," he said. "America's Cup has blown us off." [SF Examiner/photo via Shutterstock]
