Upon realizing SF parklets fall into the lawless, unregulated "legal limbo" of the Old West, Supe. Scott Wiener has stepped in to govern them. He explains to SFGate: "They’re not really sidewalks [under] public works and police codes..... and they’re not really parks, so the parks code doesn’t apply." He plans to introduce governance that will ban smoking, camping and selling stuff without a proper permit. Parklet dwellers have yet to comment, but rest assured, when they do, they may do so nude: parklet nudity rights remain protected in full (and full frontal). [SFGate]
