Let There Be Light

New, 6 comments

Artist Leo Villareal wants to turn the Bay Bridge's western span into a really big light show. Villareal wants to light the bridge with 25,000 LED lights flickering from its cables in sequences inspired by ebbs and flows of the Bay environment. Caltrans hasn't approved the project yet, and Villareal still needs to raise $7M in private donations. If he succeeds, the installation will take four months and it will light the bridge at night for two years. [SF Examiner]
