"This exhibit will feature a variety of items discovered within the footprint of the project site that illuminate the rich history of San Francisco's gold rush era," says the press release sent out by exhibit organizers for the Transbay Archeology Exhibit. Earlier this year, construction crews at the Transbay Transit Center unearthed "remnants of (a) boozy village." "Recovered artifacts show the way the residents of the South of Market neighborhood in the 19th century lived, worked and played, including industrial tools, household items and remnants of neighborhood business." Interested in checking the exhibit out? Head over to the lobby of 201 Mission Street tomorrow. [SF Appeal]
