There's Gold in Sunnydale

New, 2 comments

The master plan for revitalizing San Francisco's Sunnydale housing development has just been awarded the conditional approval at the LEED Gold Level for its sustainable attributes. This is the first neighborhood design project in the country to be approved. It's too early to say when the project will break ground (if all goes as planned - 2015), but when it does it'll include razing the buildings now on the 50-acre site and replacing them with 1,700 affordable and market-rate rental apartments and condos. The plan also calls for commercial development and recreation, including more than six acres of parkland. [SFGate]
