There were cheers all around when we learned that the Balboa Theatre in the Richmond District was going to forge on, despite its owner, Gary Meyer, announcing that he was leaving his post as operator of the theater. Now you can help keep the 85-year-old theater going. The theater's getting new seats, and for a $500 tax deductible contribution to the San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation, you can get "a permanent nameplate affixed to one of the new seats."
