Redevelopment Agencies Fight Back

New, 1 comment

"That presupposes the choice to pay is a voluntary choice as opposed to a ransom." So said California Supreme Court Judge Corrigan during a hearing yesterday, as 400 redevelopment agencies fought back against their dissolution- . Of course, we wondered how the lawyers for 400 agencies would fit one courtroom, but the suit was brought by the California Redevelopment Association and the League of California Cities, so probably just a dozen or two. Santa Clara County demurred. Justices expect to announce their decision mid-January, 2012. [SF Appeal]
