Rising Costs

New, 1 comment

A family of four in Marin County needs more than $86,000 per year to meet its basic needs - the highest price tag in California, according to a report released by the Oakland-based Insight Center for Community Economic Development. What are basic needs? Rent, child care, groceries, transportation, health care, taxes and other costs. The report was put out in an effort to highlight the difficulties many families face by not earning enough to keep up with rising costs, said Jenny Chung Mejia, center program manager.
