Modest Sign of Recovery Should Be Proud of Itself

Happy Days Are Here Again? Well, perhaps at least we can muster a half-smile from the depths of our darkest despair. According to the Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller index prices increased in August from July in a full half of the 20 cities tracked. According to SF Gate, "that marked the fifth straight month that at least half of the cities in the survey showed monthly gains," marking a "'modest glimmer of hope' that some areas may have bottomed out and could be turning around." Of course, that hope only applies to sellers. Buyers meanwhile hope for just the opposite. [SF Gate]
