Tenant Woes

A state law about house rules allowed the eviction of Ernesto Hernandez from an apartment he had lived in for almost 30 years. Hernandez violated a new house rule about subletting his $650 a month apartment because his income is only $600 per month. Whether the landlord instituted the rule knowing this is unknown, though it's worth noting that the landlord says he will not continue to rent the unit. The lowest priced apartment in North Beach on craigslist listed currently is $1350. [Bay Citizen]
