Two new Muni ticket kiosks have just been completed. One will be located on the corner of Geary Boulevard and Presidio Avenue, the other at Powell and Market streets. The structures are 242 square feet and were designed by San Francisco hotshot architect Olle Lundberg, the same man behind the problematic yet stunning Muni shelters. The cost of designing, building, shipping and assembling the two structures? $829,000, $12,000 of which was spent on moving the structures from the Embarcadero (where they were assembled) to their permanent locations. Muni spokesman Paul Rose said that the $829K came from specific regional and federal grants that "could not be spent on anything other than the designated project." [SF Examiner]
