Neighborly Networking

The Wall Street Journal today is on top of the next trendy amenity for upscale apartment communities: in-house social networking. Going beyond simply liking your building on Facebook, landlords and property managers across the country are building sites and apps that allow tenants to do everything from print guest parking passes to mingle with the hottie down the hall without ever leaving the comfort of one's own unit. As with any site entrusted with personal data, there's also the opportunity for leasing agents to market communities based on tenants' interests: such as pet-friendly or, "one filled with runners."
