Protest Away

New, 1 comment

Since the mid-1990s, the Golden Gate Bridge District has required small groups to obtain permits to host a protest on the bridge. But two Bay Area activists "filed suit challenging all the provisions except the limits of weekday protest hours." U.S. District Judge Marilyn Hall Patel ruled in their favor, saying the requirement violated protesters' rights. The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District has not yet decided whether to appeal. [SF Gate]
