The Carnival Splendor, the cruise ship that's engines caught fire and resulted in its passengers living without power or hot water for four days last November, will be "nursing its wounds" in San Francisco next week. The giant ship has been down the coast getting repaired, and now it's coming to SF for its major surgeries. The ship's 951 feet long and 13 stories high. Because it's so gigantic, San Francisco's Pier 70 is the only dock on the West Coast that's capable of repairing a ship of that size. "I'm sure you'll get a glimpse of her no matter where you are on the east side of The City," Port of San Francisco Executive Director Monique Moyer said. [SF Examiner]
