Today $35,000 could be approved for building a new bus bulb at Balboa Street and 37th Avenue in the Richmond as part of the Balboa Streetscape Improvement Project. Bus bulbs are "extensions of sidewalks at intersections, allowing transit vehicles to pull in and out of traffic easier, while also shortening the distance pedestrians have to walk to cross the street." The dough comes from local tax dollars, and is up for approval at the Plans and Programs Committee of the SFCTA. [SF Examiner]
