1945 Hyde Street, home to Russian Hill's only garage, might soon become condos. As we've mentioned before, the proposed project would turn the garage building into 7 market-rate condos. Although there is much opposition from the local NIMBYs, the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition's view would be that "the garage is currently underutilized and its re-use for housing and ground-floor commercial is a much better use," says Tim Colen, Executive Director of the SFHAC. San Francisco-based firm Ogrydziak/Prillinger Architects is behind the renderings.
