Russian Hill's Only Garage May Go Bye-Bye

Russian Hill residents are worried that their only residential parking lot is fit to be replaced by condos. if the project is approved by the planning commission, the seven condos would replace the 60-space garage. Local resident and former president of the Russian Hill Neighbors Bernard Burke said the potential change is "the most important issue in the Russian Hill neighborhood." And that changing the use the garage is "bad public policy." Valencia Garage - located on Hyde street between Union and Green streets - is located in the center of the neighborhood's shopping and restaurant district. The project is currently under environmental review.
