Richmond neighborhood residents are thrilled that local fun fest Outside Lands Festival will be shorter than previous years. Event organizer Another Planet Entertainment canned Friday's concerts because of the lack of a decent headliner. Geary Merchants Association President David Heller said that in addition to the parking monstrosity, the noise numbered 215 for last year's Friday show, which resulted in double the amount of complaints from Saturday and Sunday's shows. Allen Scott, VP of Another Planet, said his only beef was the possibility of less ticket revenue, then going on to say that they'll save money on labor and the talent. The festival raises money for the Recreation and Park Department, which gets $1,050,000 for renting the space and also $1 for every ticket sold. [SF Examiner]
