And we thought the problems with the High Speed Rail were just few endangered species and a culture of Nimbyism. But now we have the long reach from beyond the grave, guided by Assemblyman Bob Blumenfield (D-Woodland Hills). He's sponsored a bill requiring SNCF, the French rail company that would be a leading candidate to build the line, to confess to war crimes. Seems the state-owned company transported people to Nazi work and concentration camps during World War II under the Vichy administration. Assembly Bill 619 has not yet been voted on. [Fresno Bee]
