New High-Speed Rail Authority Head

As the California High-Speed Rail Authority begins to move from planning to execution, it's named a new CEO, Roelof van Ark, who up until now was the head of the company that builds France's high-speed trains. Van Ark's been brought on board for his knowhow in project management, but yesterday the LA Times also noted a potential conflict of interest: his firm may have been interested in investing in or bidding on the California bullet train project.
