Nearing the end of the "Chris Daly Era," the New York Times visits the more-progressive-than-life persona, the supe who's "probably most known for forcing developers to pay to play." There's his plan to install a "genuine" progressive mayor, and this: "At the 24 Hour Fitness on Market Street ... (he) can sometimes be spotted working out, wearing a thick sweatband across his forehead and a shirt with the arms cut off — an outfit vintage Olivia Newton John, circa 1981, sans leg warmers." He's just a big teddy bear, see? [NYT]
